God's Message From Our Cat

It was well past time to let her go
We wrapped her in a blanket

Then we drove to the doctors office
The very last place she was destined to go

We made this trip many times before
She was living with cancer, but she was a fighter

From the time we adopted her she was a big
pain in our butt we loved her

She was very demanding and acted like she ruled our house
Steak and shrimp was all she would eat

She aroused in us an angry streak
Why did we love a creature that caused us so much grief and strife

Certainly, we were not gluttons for punishment in our life
Why did we love her so, and why did we not want her to go

Is there a lesson here as to why God loves humans knowing that all of us are sinners
We lie and cheat; we must cause God so much strife and grief

Could it be that God loves those who do not believe
as much as those who find the Way

Love is not a rational emotion; it is there or it isn’t
Thank God for who God is, a creative Spirt of love from above
