God's Patience

God’s patience and long suffering
Cannot be measured with human words

From beginning of time
Most human life has not been kind

Maybe now and then
And occasionally at life's end

What must our creator think
When rising from earth is so much human stink

The good from humanity that does prevail
Must be the medicine to keep God
From throwing us all into jail
